Rediscovering Focus

After a long break, I'm back at it.

Life hit me hard last year in several ways, and I won't get into all the details, but these are the setbacks we all face from time to time. The important thing is getting past those things when they come up, and finding a way to get back on track.

As part of getting back on track, I've decided to spend this year polishing up old languages I never took to fluency, starting with German.

In high school I had two years of German, and I took to it like a fish to water. I really loved the German language and I did very well in my studies, but after school ended I never had any reason to use it so what modest skill I had idled and eventually rusted away.

This year's first language task is to renew my attention to the German language and bring my skill up to a reasonable level of fluency.

I've also got some other, more exciting things planned for this year, but I'm not ready to share those details just yet...
