Benny Lewis is one of the nicest, and most inspirational people it has been my pleasure to interact with, and thanks to his charitable nature, I've gotten more attention on this blog than I deserve. In an act of selflessness fitting to his nature, he nominated two blogs (neither his own) at the top of the list on Babla for the Top 100 Language Blogs voting. Mine was one of them.
While I appreciate any votes that come my way, I'm actually going to ask you, my readers, to vote for Benny's blog, Fluent In 3 Months. Certainly he deserves it more than I do, but also because he's actually got a chance of coming out high on the list, whereas I most likely do not. So please, give Benny your support!
After you've done that
After you've given your support to Benny, I'd like to ask you to give a little to me. But it's not support I want. I want to know what you think of this web site.
What do you like? What do you dislike? What do you wish was different? What is your favorite thing about Fluent Every Year?
How do you feel about the site itself? Is the design a distraction, or too vanilla? Are the colors pleasant, or hard to read, or never been an issue? Do I have too much information in the sidebar? Not enough information in the footer?
About the writing... is it too long? Too short? Too often? Not often enough? Exciting? Boring? Interesting?
I already know my good friend Steve Kaufmann wishes I would write more often about grammar, his favorite topic. But what do the rest of you want?
Do you wish I talked more about using a langauge when you travel? Would you like to see more "language profiles", the summaries I write about languages I don't know? Are you looking for more creative ways to practice a language?
That's a lot of questions, and it's not limited to those. If you have a comment, I want to hear it! Please feel free to leave comments below. Or if you prefer, you can send them to @yearlyglot on Twitter, or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
